The theme for the 27th American Peptide Symposium, “Peptide Science at the Summit”, held at The Whistler Conference Centre, Whistler, BC, Canada, covered a broad range of topics connecting chemical, structural, materials, biological, pharmaceutical and medical science. Co-Chairs were Mark D. Distefano from the University of Minnesota, and Les Miranda from Amgen.
Melissa Moore, Chief Scientific Officer of Moderna, opened the symposium with her keynote lecture titled “mRNA as Medicine”. The closing keynote lecture, “Discovery and Applications of Cyclotides: Nature’s Ultra-Stable Peptide Scaffolds,” was performed by Professor David Craik from the University of Queensland.
